Some of our team recently had the opportunity to visit the SIDAS headquarters in Voiron, France. During our visit, we spent time learning from their team and an experienced podiatrist to further develop our knowledge of foot biomechanics and orthotic therapy.
What Are SIDAS Orthotics?
Orthotics are specially designed insoles that support your feet, help spread pressure more evenly and improve the way your feet work when you walk, run or stand.
SIDAS orthotics are designed to provide support based on the way your feet move. They are available in both custom-made and ready-to-adapt designs, allowing us to choose the best option for each patient.
How Can They Help?
The way your feet move can affect the rest of your body. If your feet are not working as efficiently as they should, extra stress can be placed on your muscles, tendons and joints.
Following a thorough assessment, SIDAS orthotics may help with a range of foot and lower limb problems, including:
- Plantar heel pain.
- Pain in the ball of the foot.
- Arch pain.
- Tendon problems.
- Tired, aching feet from standing or walking for long periods.
- Some types of knee, hip and lower limb pain where foot movement may be contributing.
For many patients, the biggest benefit is not just reducing pain, but making everyday activities easier and more comfortable.
Whether it is walking the dog, spending a day at work, playing golf or getting back into running, the right foot support can help you stay active with greater confidence.
Why We Continue to Use SIDAS
We have used SIDAS orthotics for many years because we believe they offer a great combination of quality, comfort and personalised support.
What we particularly like about SIDAS:
- They are designed around you: SIDAS technology allows us to create orthotics based on your foot shape, how you move, the shoes you wear and your lifestyle.
- They can be designed and made in our clinic: Creating your orthotics in-house means a smoother process and quicker turnaround times. It also reduces unnecessary transportation, helping us lower the environmental impact of the process.
- They care about sustainability: SIDAS is committed to reducing its impact on the environment through responsible manufacturing, thoughtful material choices and more sustainable product development.
- They combine support with comfort: A good orthotic should not only support your feet but also feel comfortable enough to wear every day. SIDAS offers a range of options so we can find the right solution for your needs and goals.
Continuing to Learn for the Benefit of Our Patients
Our recent visit to SIDAS gave us the opportunity to share knowledge with experienced podiatrists, discuss different treatment approaches and improve our understanding of how orthotics can help different patients.
By continuing to learn and develop our skills, we can make sure every recommendation we make is based on careful assessment and tailored to the person in front of us.
Our goal is always the same: to help our patients move more comfortably, stay active and enjoy a better quality of life.
For many people, the right orthotic can be an important part of achieving that.
