Practice Policy

To allow us at Supafoot to provide the best podiatry service to all of our patients we operate the following practice policy. Please read it carefully and do not hesitate to contact any member of staff should you require any further explanation of its contents.

 

  1. The Clinic Director is Emma Price. She can be contacted by telephone in the clinic on (01242) 321242 or by email at emmaprice@supafoot.com or in writing to Supafoot Cheltenham Ltd, The Old School House, 3A Leckhampton Road, Cheltenham, GL53 0AX. At Supafoot we try to provide the best possible service to all patients and visitors, however we accept that mistakes can occur and we will do our best to correct them. If the clinic has failed to meet your expectations in any way, please inform a member of staff and we will forward the issue to the clinic director or practice manager. The clinic operates a formal complaints procedure and in the unlikely event of any complaint they can be forwarded to the appropriate regulatory body.
 
  1. You may be asked to wear shorts and T-shirt if you require or ask for a musculoskeletal assessment. The clinic respects patient dignity and privacy and you will be offered your own room to change should you require it.
 
  1. As a patient you have a right to know, and practitioners have an obligation to provide, information about your condition to enable you to take part in making decisions about your care. This is known as informed consent. Your healthcare professional will try hard to provide all information in a way you can understand, but if you are confused, please ask. You may also be asked to sign further consent forms to indicate that you understand the risks or benefits of specific procedures. You have the right to withdraw consent at any time verbally or by emailing us at cheltenham@supafoot.com.
 
  1. For the protection of our staff, aggressive, violent, insulting or offensive behaviour by patients or accompanying persons will result in the patient being discharged from the clinic.
 
  1. Children or those with special mental health needs attending the clinic are the responsibility of the parent, guardian or carer. The clinic will not take responsibility for any accident or injury caused to such persons in the event of improper supervision. Damage caused by improper supervision will be charged by the clinic.
 
  1. Children under the age of 16 or those of special mental health needs will not be treated in the absence of a suitable chaperone.
 
  1. Payment for care is due immediately at the time of service. Payment can be made by cash or credit/debit card. Patient undergoing a program of care may pay for blocks of treatment sessions in advance should they wish.
 
  1. Patients with private health insuranceare advised to check the details of the policy prior to incurring fees for care. We do require a confirmed authorisation number before your appointmentto allow us to invoice the insurer. Without this we will require payment after your appointment. We will of course issue an invoice for you to claim the cost of the appointment from your insurer.
 
  1. Patients wishing to cancel appointment should do so at least 24 hours in advance. The clinic reserves the right to charge patients for late cancellations. Patients consistently failing to keep their appointments will incur full fees for the missed appointment.

Your Data and Privacy Policy:

1. Under GDPR we are required to advise patients about how we process your data and inform that Supafoot Cheltenham is the data controller. If you wish to contact us, please use the details on the previous page.

a) As part of the patient record, the clinic is required to retain information for the purpose of consultation, examination, recording treatment notes. This includes basic name, birth date and address information and a medical history relevant to podiatry to provide you with healthcare services. The legal basis for us to process your personal data is the contract with you.

b) All paper files and information therein may be entered onto a digital record software (Cliniko) and remain on computer for as long as the patient remains a patient in our clinic and thereafter for a period of eight years.

c) All information recorded will be treated as confidential and will not be given to any other person/organisation without the consent of the patient concerned.


d) Information will be held manually and electronically, and files will only be accessible by staff at the clinic who are directly involved in the data entry and processing of patient records.


2) It may be required that your practitioner corresponds with your GP or another healthcare professional to act in your best interest. This is considered best practice for patient well-being. You are entitled to withhold consent if you do not want us to communicate with other professionals.



3) You are entitled to exercise your rights under GDPR with regards to your data for example to see your notes and copies of any correspondence we send.
