Heel pain & plantar fasciitis

Heel pain is a common foot complaint, often caused by plantar fasciitis. This condition occurs when the plantar fascia—a thick band of tissue running along the bottom of the foot from the heel to the toes—becomes inflamed or strained.

Plantar fasciitis typically causes a sharp pain in the heel, especially with the first steps in the morning or after periods of rest. It’s often linked to overuse, poor footwear, tight calf muscles, or foot mechanics like flat feet or high arches.

Treatment focuses on reducing inflammation and improving flexibility. This may include stretching exercises, rest, ice application, orthotics, and wearing supportive footwear. In persistent cases, treatments like shockwave therapy or K-Laser therapy may be recommended.
